Palestinian Ambassador Applauds Algeria’s Role at Security Council

ALGIERS- In a statement released on Saturday, Mr. Fayez Abu Aïta, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria, commended Algeria’s resolution project presented at the Security Council and the extensive work, preparation, coordination, and consultation with international parties and groups to ensure its success.
The Palestinian diplomat described the 12 votes in favor of Algeria’s resolution project for Palestine’s UN membership as a significant victory for the Palestinian cause, while condemning the American veto.
He praised Algeria’s leadership role at the Security Council in advocating for Palestine’s full and complete membership in the UN.
Algeria’s initiative at the Security Council reflects its enduring commitment to the Palestinian cause and its steadfast support for the rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people. The resolution project aimed to promote international recognition of Palestine’s right to statehood and to end the occupation of Palestinian territories.
Despite the American veto, the support garnered for the resolution project underscores the international community’s acknowledgment of the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
