Palestinian Ambassador Applauds Algerian President Tebboune's Support, Initiative for Hosting Palestinian Wounded

Algiers, March 29, 2024 – Mr. Fayez Abu Aïta, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria, has expressed profound gratitude for the stance and initiative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in welcoming Palestinian wounded individuals to Algeria for medical treatment.

“We thank Algeria, our fraternal country, and highly commend the stance and initiative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, along with his directives, for the reception of Palestinian wounded individuals,” stated Mr. Abu Aïta upon the arrival of Palestinian wounded individuals and their relatives in Algeria on Thursday evening, assuring that the operation was a success.

The diplomat informed that 46 Palestinian individuals wounded during the brutal Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip arrived in Algeria accompanied by 67 relatives, totaling 113 individuals.

“This is a noble and honorable stance by Algeria, and we are aware of the immense efforts exerted by our brothers in Algeria to successfully carry out the repatriation operation of the wounded to Algerian territory to provide them with necessary medical care,” he added.

Mr. Abu Aïta underscored that this operation of repatriating Palestinian wounded individuals illustrates “Algeria’s steadfast support for Palestine and its people.”

He further affirmed that “this initiative is capable of bolstering the resilience of the Palestinian people.”

It is worth mentioning that the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP) carried out the evacuation of wounded Palestinian children, along with their companions, from Cairo International Airport in Egypt to Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region on Thursday.
