Palestinian Ambassador Commends Algerian Press for Countering Zionist and Western Propaganda

ALGIERS- In a statement made on Saturday in Algiers, Palestinian Ambassador to Algeria, Fayez Abu Aita, expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Algerian press in confronting Zionist and Western propaganda. The ambassador acknowledged the media’s efforts in unveiling the harsh realities of brutal aggression and genocide committed against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking on the sidelines of the conference on “Information and Current Challenges,” organized to mark the National Press Day at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, the Palestinian diplomat underscored the significance of the Algerian press. He emphasized that Algerian media actively contributes to dismantling the Zionist and Western narrative surrounding the aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people, with a particular focus on Gaza.
Ambassador Abu Aita praised the work carried out by the Algeria Press Service (APS), stating that it significantly challenges the Zionist and Western narrative regarding the brutal aggression led by the Zionist occupation. He commended APS for its dedication to defending the Palestinian cause, attributing this commitment to the agency’s professionalism and its determination to expose the falsehoods propagated by Western media.
Regarding the conference organized by the Ministry of Communication, Ambassador Abu Aita noted that it takes place in the context of the brutal aggression against the Palestinian people. He highlighted Algeria’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and emphasized that by depicting the reality of the situation in occupied Palestine, the Algerian press actively counters attempts to criminalize Palestinian resistance and legitimize the crimes of the occupation.
The ambassador concluded by stating that the Algerian media’s contribution is essential in thwarting the efforts of numerous Western media outlets that claim professionalism but engage in criminalizing Palestinian resistance and legitimizing the occupation’s crimes.
Algeria’s commitment to truth-telling in the face of external narratives aligns with its historical stance of supporting oppressed causes and promoting justice on the international stage. The National Press Day celebration served as a platform not only to acknowledge the achievements of the press but also to reaffirm the importance of a free and responsible media in the fight against misinformation and in advocating for justice and human rights.
