ALGIERS- Pétro Baraka is a leading Algerian company based in Wilaya de Biskra, specializing in the storage and distribution of petroleum products, LPG/C, oils and fats, and auto maintenance products. Additionally, the company offers marketing and installation services for KIT LPG/C.
In 2014, the Algerian company Pétro Baraka was launched, marking the beginning of a journey that has seen the company grow and diversify its offerings. In 2017, Pétro Baraka expanded its operations to include the storage and distribution of liquefied gas, and in 2020, the company ventured into the production, storage, and distribution of industrial greases. It is worth noting that the idea of establishing an oil production unit was conceived in 2018.
With a network of 180 service stations spread across the national territory, Pétro Baraka has established itself as a leading player in the Algerian market. However, the company’ success did not come overnight. In the early days, Pétro Baraka was primarily engaged in the sale of oils and greases from other brands. However, with the scarcity of these products, the company saw an opportunity to create an Algerian factory that would leverage the energy and talent of young Algerians to produce 100 percent national products.
Today, Pétro Baraka is proud to be a leading producer and distributor of Algerian products. In April 2021, the company began the distribution of its locally produced products, marking a significant milestone in its journey. As Pétro Baraka continues to grow and expand its operations, it remains committed to delivering high-quality products and services to its customers while contributing to the development of the Algerian economy.
“In the same year, we successfully manufactured a range of high-quality oil products that were in high demand in the market. This marked a significant milestone for our company, as we were able to gain a deep understanding of the requirements of the Algerian market and our customers. Today, we are proud to offer over 50 different products in various sizes, including 20-liter, 5-liter, and 1-liter packages, all tailored to meet the specific needs of our valued customers,” said Mr. Islam Farhet, a Commercial Director.
In an exclusive interview with the electronic channel Dzair Tube, Farhet went further, saying: “From the outset, we have conducted extensive market research and leveraged our vast resources, capabilities, and human capital to develop a comprehensive business plan that will guide our operations until 2030. Our goal is to attract a large customer base and compete effectively with other companies in the industry.
We are fortunate to operate in a time of economic openness under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has demonstrated unwavering support for the Algerian product. As a result, we are committed to doing everything in our power to meet the demands of the Algerian market and ensure that our customers receive the highest quality products and services.”
“The state-of-the-art facilities include a Gas Filling Center and a Lubricants and Greases Production Unit, which further enhance our capabilities and allow us to provide comprehensive solutions to our clients,” noted the same official.
Mr. Rachid Alae-Eddine, a distinguished unit official, proudly stated: “Our factory produces top-quality oils, greases, and coolants. Our expertise lies in the production of cooling oils for car and truck engines, transmission oils, and other specialized oils. Our industrial and other greases are versatile and cater to a wide range of applications. Our cooling liquids are produced according to international specifications and methods approved by renowned laboratories, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality. We hold licenses from esteemed international companies, and our factory boasts a state-of-the-art laboratory dedicated to ensuring the quality of our products.”
For her part, Mrs. Habchi Rania, a quality control expert, explained that “the laboratory’s role is to monitor quality and consistency throughout all stages of production.” She said, “We conduct analyses in accordance with international standards, including viscosity, volumetric mass, and oil ignition point, among others. We utilize the latest technologies available in advanced global laboratories to measure the percentage of water in the oil and viscosity at low degrees, ensuring that we deliver a high-quality product that satisfies our customers’ needs and exceeds their expectations.

Mr. Farhet took the floor again, saying: “Our valued customers can easily communicate with us to provide their feedback and suggestions, which we take into consideration with utmost importance. It is worth noting that our factory is the only one in Algeria that produces high-quality oils, greases, and maintenance products. Additionally, we boast a remarkable storage capacity of 3000 hectares, which enables us to store our production for up to six months.
Furthermore, we take pride in manufacturing 50 percent of our packaging in-house, which ensures that our products are of the highest quality. Our workforce comprises 150 young graduates from Algerian universities, and we plan to increase this number to 300 by the end of 2023. We hold a quality certificate for almost all of our products, which is a testament to our commitment to delivering excellence to our customers.
To ensure timely delivery of our products, we have a fleet of 300 trucks that cover all provinces in Algeria. We also have regional warehouses in Hassi Messaoud and Constantine, and we are in the process of establishing other ones in Algiers and Oran to cater to all parts of the country.
