ALGIERS- Today, Prime Minister Mr. Nadir Larbaoui chaired a meeting of the High Import Regulation Council, as indicated by a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
The statement specifies that “this meeting focused on evaluating data related to the trade balance, examining and proposing mechanisms and measures to protect and promote domestic production with the aim of substituting imports.”
The meeting also addressed the major aspects of the national import policy and strengthening coordination between sectors to regulate them, notably through the development of the information system and statistical system of the national production fabric.
Accelerating the digitization process was also on the agenda, in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic given during the installation ceremony of the council on August 2, 2023.
