As Mohamed Boukhari is Officially Installed as President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Government Emphasizes Strategic Vision Rooted in Innovation, Justice, and Inclusive Growth
Algiers, Algeria | April 15th, 2025 — Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui presided on Tuesday, April 15, over the official installation of Mohamed Boukhari as President of the National Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CNESE), succeeding Rabia Kherfi. On this occasion, the Premier issued a resolute call for the Council to rise to the national challenge of “accompanying the profound transformations Algeria is undergoing.”
In a speech marked by clarity and conviction, Larbaoui underscored that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has laid the foundation for a multifaceted strategic development vision, grounded in economic transformation, social justice, and sustainable development.
“This vision is part of the President’s ambitious and comprehensive reform agenda,” Larbaoui emphasized, “aimed at implementing major structural projects, bolstering productive investment, enhancing national output, expanding exports, and moving steadfastly toward a knowledge-based, innovation-driven, and digital economy — all while preserving the social character of the state.”
Highlighting the centrality of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council in this transformative path, Larbaoui affirmed that the institution must serve as a platform for rigorous scientific debate, participatory dialogue, and constructive policy proposals.
He insisted that the Council’s diverse composition — which includes experts and professionals across scientific, economic, social, and environmental fields — is uniquely equipped to inform Algeria’s policymaking and support the government’s commitment to building a diversified, competitive, and integrated economy.
“Algeria is undergoing significant shifts that require unified national engagement. The Council’s advisory capacity must be fully mobilized to generate forward-looking recommendations that guide public policy, empower innovation, and catalyze initiatives rooted in knowledge, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development,” the Prime Minister concluded.
