Political Parties Applaud President Tebboune’s Announcement for a Second Term

Algiers, Algeria | July 12th, 2024 — On Thursday, several political parties expressed their support for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s announcement of his intention to run for a second term in the upcoming presidential election on September 7th. They commended the accomplishments achieved during his first term across various sectors.

The National Democratic Rally (RND) voiced its satisfaction with President Tebboune’s decision to heed the party’s National Council’s call for him to seek another term. The RND’s statement highlighted the importance of continuing the reform process to propel Algeria towards a promising future that aligns with the aspirations of the Algerian people. The party pledged full support from its members to ensure a successful electoral process, contributing to a clean and distinguished campaign alongside political partners, aiming for President Tebboune’s victory in the presidential election.

Similarly, the National El Bina El Watani Movement  welcomed President Tebboune’s announcement with great enthusiasm. The party’s communiqué emphasized that this decision aligns with their National Consultative Council’s resolution to endorse his candidacy for the upcoming election. El Bina El Watani expressed its readiness to effectively contribute to a quality electoral campaign, mobilizing support across the country for substantial voter turnout.

The El Islah Movement also declared its full support for President Tebboune’s candidacy, highlighting the significant achievements during his first term. The movement praised his leadership during challenging times, noting the political and socio-economic stability he brought to the country despite internal and external challenges. They underscored the president’s efforts in strengthening the judiciary’s role in combating corruption, enhancing citizens’ social rights, distributing a considerable number of housing units, and reviving Algerian diplomacy on the international stage. El Islah believes that a second term would allow President Tebboune to complete ongoing projects and lead the country toward a better future.

The Tajamoue Amal El Djazair (TAJ) party also expressed its support for President Tebboune’s re-election bid, highlighting the significant milestones achieved under his leadership in building a stable and prosperous new Algeria. The party’s statement emphasized their commitment to any initiative that ensures the country’s stability and security, serving the people’s aspirations and contributing to national development.

These political entities collectively called on all citizens to participate massively in the upcoming presidential election to maintain the stability and security of Algeria and its institutions.
