ALGIERS- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, arrived today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for an official visit.
This visit serves to strengthen the fraternal relations and cooperation between Algeria and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Attaf will participate in ministerial meetings to prepare for the upcoming Arab summit on May 19th in Jeddah.
During his visit, Attaf will co-chair the 4th session of the Algerian-Saudi Political Consultation Committee with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faycal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. This committee was established to intensify the pace of consultation and coordination between the two countries on all matters of common interest. A bilateral agreement is expected to be signed to set up the Algerian-Saudi Superior Coordination Council, which was finalized last week during Prince Faycal’s visit to Algiers.
In addition to the bilateral meetings, Attaf will also participate in ministerial meetings of the Council of the League of Arab States and various sub-committees to monitor the implementation of decisions adopted by Arab leaders at the Algiers summit. He will also prepare for the various topics on the agenda of the 32nd session of the Arab Summit.
During the Ministerial Council meeting, Attaf will chair the meetings of the Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of Decisions and Commitments at Ministerial Level, the Open-ended Arab Ministerial Committee to Support the State of Palestine, and the Ministerial Committee responsible for studying the proposals made by President Abdemadjid Tebboune.
