Tunis – Tunisian President Kais Saied delivered a resolute message on the global stage, reiterating his unwavering support for the rights of the Palestinian people and his firm rejection of any form of normalization with the Zionist entity. Speaking during the presentation of credentials to new ambassadors of Tunisia, President Saied made it clear that the term “normalization” held no place in his lexicon.
In a powerful speech that underscored his commitment to justice and sovereignty, President Saied stated, “Never forget the rights of Palestine. It is a legitimate right. This is a central issue for the entire nation. Standardization, for me, does not exist. The normal course of things is that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, who must recover their rights. The State of Palestine must be independent with El-Quds as its capital.”
President Saied emphasized that even in a scenario where the Palestinian State establishes diplomatic relations with other nations and appoints ambassadors, the core issue of Palestinian rights should not be overshadowed. He asserted that the Palestinian cause remains at the heart of the matter for the Arab and Muslim worlds. “The natural thing is that Palestine returns to the Palestinian people,” he affirmed.
These declarations align with sentiments expressed by the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community, Ahmed Attaf, during a press conference centered on ongoing developments in the Sahel region. Attaf echoed Tunisia’s strong opposition to any attempts at normalization with Israel. The Algerian diplomat highlighted the critical stance Tunisia has taken in this regard.
Furthermore, President Saied’s position was reinforced by discussions between the special envoy of the Tunisian President and Algerian officials. This meeting, which took place during a recent visit to Algeria, served as a platform to elucidate Tunisia’s steadfast stance against normalization and its dedication to supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Tunisian President Kais Saied’s resolute words and actions reflect the unwavering commitment of Tunisia to upholding the rights of the Palestinian people. The clarity with which he disavows the concept of normalization demonstrates his determination to ensure that the pursuit of justice for Palestine remains at the forefront of the international agenda. As the world watches, President Saied’s message serves as a reminder that principles of justice, sovereignty, and human rights should always guide diplomatic relations and decision-making processes.
