President of CRA Hamlaoui snatches title of “Volunteer personality of the year” thanks to body’s qualitative leap forward during her tenure

ALGIERS– The President of the Algerian Red Crescent, Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui snatched the title of “Volunteer personality of the year”.
Following a survey conducted by “Youth, yes we can” association in partnership with the Algerian cosmetics brand ”Protellisse,” Dr. Hamlaoui grabbed the title thanks to her body’s honorable performance in Syria and Turkey following the devastating earthquake that struck the sisterly countries, causing countless victims and wreaking terrible infrastructural damage.
In addition, the title comes as a recognition of her tireless efforts to help people in difficulty and empower vulnerable individuals and communities in Algeria and abroad as she strives through the body, considered as the leading beacon in serving humanity in Algeria, to alleviate human suffering everywhere and at all times without partiality or discrimination.
Noting that the organization has remained active in providing humanitarian assistance throughout Algeria and abroad since its creation in the 50s. However, and since the appointment, on Thursday, May 12th, 2022, of Ms. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, a specialist in cardiac surgery and political activist, as the President of this organization, the latter has been working forcefully to achieve the ultimate goal of alleviating humanitarian sufferings especially for those in crises and to popularize the culture of solidarity, fraternity and tolerance, out of the conviction that these universal values enhance the defense of human dignity and social cohesion.
Since she took the reign of power, the body has made a qualitative leap forward. The distinction ceremony will take place within days in the presence of the media and civil society actors.
Earlier, the President of the Saharawi Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, honored the President of the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA), Ibtissem Hamlaoui for her permanent and unwavering support for the Saharawi refugees in the camps, which are considered the oldest and largest camps in the world, with more than 176,000 refugees.
In this vein, the President of the Saharawi Red Crescent, Bouhebini Yahia Boudjbini, considered the honor as a symbol of loyalty for the permanent support of Algeria and the CRA who spared no effort to help the Sahrawi refugees in the most difficult times.
