ALGIERS- Exercising a responsibility within the institutions of the State, “means protecting the citizens and not occupying a seat and adorning oneself with a red burnouse”, indicated the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during his periodic interview with representatives of local media, broadcast yesterday by national television channels.

Recalling, in this sense, that there is now a new national context, President Tebboune reaffirmed, bluntly, that the era of impunity is definitely over.

“All those who are guilty of serious misconduct will be punished, whether ministers or others,” he warned, adding: “The law will now apply to everyone, without exception, and in all its rigor.”

Asked about non-hydrocarbon exports, President Tebboune indicated that the value of agricultural production was close to 35 billion dollars in 2022. However, Mr. Tebboune considers that it is unacceptable and intolerable to see a country like Algeria continue to import meat.

To overcome this situation, Algeria, he underlined, has requested foreign technological input to stimulate a new dynamic in the sector.

Regarding Algeria’s accession to the BRICS group, announced for 2023, the President assured that it will offer Algeria several opportunities for its development.
