ALGIERS- During his state visit to Portugal, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune met with representatives of the Algerian community residing in the country. The President was attentive to their concerns and proposals, emphasizing his commitment to making their voices heard and taking their concerns into account.
During the meeting, President Tebboune urged a member of the Algerian community established in Portugal to drop the formal title of “Your Excellency.” This gesture highlights the President’s desire to connect with the community on a personal level and to foster a sense of unity and equality. By encouraging a more informal and approachable dialogue, President Tebboune is setting a positive example for leaders around the world. His willingness to listen and engage with the Algerian community in Portugal demonstrates his dedication to promoting inclusivity and understanding.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered, during his swearing-in ceremony, the government officials and media outlets to refrain from using the title “His Excellency” when referring to him.
