Algiers, Algeria | June 11th, 2024 — The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced on Tuesday Algeria’s decision to advance the payment of the second part of its financial contribution to the Palestinian Authority’s budget for the current year. He expressed his hope that this measure would help “alleviate the suffering of our brothers in Gaza.”

In a speech delivered on his behalf by Health Minister Abdelhak Saihi during a high-level conference in Jordan on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, President Tebboune stated, “In line with Algeria’s consistent approach to making its contributions to the Palestinian Authority’s budget in a timely manner, I am pleased to take this opportunity to announce our decision to advance the payment of the second installment of Algeria’s financial contribution for the current year.”

President Tebboune expressed his hope that “this measure will help alleviate the suffering of our brothers in Gaza and inspire donors to increase their support and contribute effectively and constructively to ending the tragedy of the Palestinian people.”

Intensifying Efforts to Mobilize International Support

On the same occasion, President Tebboune called for intensified efforts and mobilization of international support to stand by the Palestinian people.

He emphasized the need to take effective measures against the Zionist occupation authority to compel it to stop the bloodshed and hold it accountable for its heinous crimes.

In this context, the President of the Republic asserted that the tragic situation experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip “is a disgrace in the history of humanity.”
