President Tebboune Allocates 70 Billion DA to the National Cancer Fighting Initiative

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has taken a decisive step in supporting the National Initiative to Fight Cancer by allocating a substantial sum of 70 billion DA from the National Fund to Fight Cancer, as reported by the APS Agency.

In a message conveyed to the participants of the 22nd Congress of the Arab Medical Association Against Cancer (AMAAC) and the 15th Oncology Congress, held at Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers, the President’s words were read by Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui, an advisor to the Presidency of the Republic. The President emphasized that the National Fund to Fight Cancer will also receive an additional 30 billion DA starting from 2024. He stressed the importance of ensuring a more equitable distribution of cancer centers across the nation.

Highlighting the alarming statistic of 50,000 recorded cancer cases in Algeria in 2022, President Tebboune underscored the urgent need for improvements and adjustments in addressing these cases. He emphasized that monitoring and combating cancer must be prioritized.
