ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced on Wednesday an increase of 10 to 15% for retirees’ pensions, as reported by the state television, ENTV.
According to the same media, the announcement was made by the President during his speech on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day celebration at the People’s Palace.
The President stated that this increase will be approved during the next Council of Ministers.
It is worth mentioning that the President had already given his approval for the increase in retirees’ pensions on April 21st, during a Council of Ministers meeting he chaired. “The President has given his approval for the revision of allowances for retirees, for all categories, in order to improve their standard of living,” announced the Council of Ministers’ statement.
At the same time, he instructed the government to determine the volumes, proportions, and distributions according to the categories.
