President Tebboune awards Medal of National Merit of “El Athir” Order to President of Portugal

ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Monday, awarded the Medal of National Merit of the Order “El Athir” to the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, as reported in the latest issue of the Official Gazette.
According to the presidential decree published in the Official Gazette, “In accordance with Articles 37 and 141, the Medal of the Order ‘El Athir’ in the rank of national merit has been awarded to His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Republic of Portugal.”
It is worth noting that President Tebboune recently wrapped up a two-day state visit to Portugal, which confirms the depth of the strategic relationship between the two countries. During this visit, several agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed in various areas of partnership and cooperation, further consolidating the historical relations and convergence of views between Algeria and Portugal.
This recognition of President Rebelo de Sousa’s contributions to the strengthening of bilateral ties between Algeria and Portugal is a testament to the importance of fostering strong relationships between nations.
