Algiers, Algeria | October 7th, 2024 — On Monday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the Republic of Algeria held farewell meetings with the ambassadors of the People’s Republic of China and Japan at the presidential headquarters. These meetings marked the conclusion of the diplomats’ respective missions in Algeria.
Farewell to the Chinese Ambassador
President Tebboune received the Chinese Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Li Jian, in a formal audience. The meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the strong and historic ties between Algeria and China, underscoring the continued commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors. The audience was attended by Boualem Boualem, the Director of Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic.
Meeting with the Japanese Ambassador
In a separate meeting, President Tebboune also welcomed Japan’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Kono Akira, who was also paying a farewell visit at the conclusion of his diplomatic assignment. During the discussion, both sides highlighted the deep-rooted cooperation and shared interests between Algeria and Japan, emphasizing the importance of ongoing collaboration in economic, technological, and cultural fields. Mr. Boualem Boualem was also present at this audience.
These diplomatic meetings reflect Algeria’s sustained efforts to foster strong international partnerships and mutual understanding with key global players.
