Algiers, Algeria | February 23rd, 2025 — On Sunday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his capacity as Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over a Council of Ministers meeting to review strategic programs across multiple sectors.

According to an official communiqué from the Presidency, the meeting examined the progress of the national roadmap aimed at reducing ship docking delays and expediting cargo handling processes for imports. Additionally, the Council assessed the implementation status of the nationwide fiber-optic network expansion program, a critical component of Algeria’s digital transformation strategy.

The agenda also included an evaluation of domestic gas and petroleum product consumption trends, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring energy security and efficient resource management. The review focused on consumption patterns and the sustainability of national energy supplies.
