President Tebboune Commemorates International Workers’ Day, Emphasizes Commitment to Workers’ Rights and Social Justice

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune stated on Wednesday in Algiers that the observance of International Workers’ Day serves as a reminder of the enduring struggle and steadfast commitment of honorable individuals who prioritized the nation’s interests above all else.
Presiding over the ceremony held at the People’s Palace in May 1st Square to commemorate International Workers’ Day, the President highlighted that the occasion provided an opportunity to honor the dedication and perseverance of individuals like Aïssat Idir, who exemplified a strong sense of national duty.
President Tebboune also expressed pride in the patriotism and noble spirit of the late Abdelhak Benhamouda, paying tribute to his memory and to all those who shared his path.
The President underscored the importance of recognizing the contributions of those who fought for workers’ rights and social justice, acknowledging their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to societal improvement. He emphasized the significance of honoring their legacy and continuing their work towards achieving a more equitable and just society.
Throughout the event, various speakers echoed the President’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for solidarity among workers and the importance of addressing contemporary challenges within the labor force. They praised the role of workers in advancing national development and called for greater efforts to enhance working conditions and ensure fairness for all.
President Tebboune outlined the government’s dedication to upholding workers’ rights and enhancing labor conditions, including initiatives to generate more employment opportunities, strengthen social protection programs, and support workers’ unions.
He also emphasized the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation to stimulate economic growth and create sustainable employment opportunities. President Tebboune reiterated the government’s commitment to investing in education, training, and vocational programs to equip workers with the skills necessary for success in the modern economy.
The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence to honor all deceased workers, followed by a demonstration of solidarity among attendees as they pledged to continue the struggle for workers’ rights and social justice.
