President Tebboune Decides to Grant Title of “Honorary Magistrate” to Certain Judges

ALGIERS- Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Abderrachid Tabi, announced on Saturday President Tebboune’s decision to award the title of “Honorary Magistrate” to retired judges from the Supreme Court.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center (CIC), Tabi emphasized that this decision is a first in the history of the Algerian judiciary.
During his address, Tabi explained that President of the Republic, who also serves as the President of the High Council of the Judiciary (CSM), made this decision in accordance with Article 93 of the Judiciary’s statute.
The minister applauded this distinction, stating that “it is the least we can do for the magistrates, considering their contributions to the service of justice throughout their careers.”
“The recognition of such judicial traditions demonstrates the interest of the President of the Republic in the judiciary and sends a strong message of his appreciation for the judicial power,” he added.
This decision reflects the government’s commitment to honoring the dedication and service of judges, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the justice system. It underscores President Tebboune’s respect for the judiciary and aims to strengthen the judiciary’s role in upholding justice and the rule of law in Algeria.
