ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a delegation from the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) on Wednesday, led by Mr. Kamel Moula, as announced in a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.
During the meeting, President Tebboune congratulated the CREA for its pivotal role in advancing the national economy, earning the full confidence of the President and the respect of foreign partners. He commended the organization’s success in contributing to the stability of the domestic market and acknowledged the efforts of all economic stakeholders, as stated in the press release.
The President emphasized that the CREA is a civic organization comprising nationalist and honest members, whom he encouraged, along with all economic operators, to continue driving forward the development of the national economy despite attempts to tarnish its reputation by remnants of the old regime.
The audience also addressed a comprehensive review of investment projects between November 2022 and the end of February 2024, totaling 6,103 projects with a value of 3.068 trillion Algerian dinars (DZD), resulting in the creation of 150,000 direct jobs.
The press release highlighted that the value of foreign direct investments amounted to 38 billion DZD, while investments in partnership projects reached 844 billion DZD.
In a statement following the meeting, Mr. Moula described the discussion as “highly fruitful,” covering various aspects related to the economy, improving the business environment, and addressing challenges faced by Algerian economic operators.
The discussions also focused on developing the Algerian industry and achieving self-sufficiency, particularly in manufacturing and input industries.
Mr. Moula also addressed the issue of purchasing power, which President Tebboune has shown particular interest in. The President previously sent a message to all Algerian economic operators who had joined the CREA initiative to reduce prices during Ramadan, praising their strong commitment to lowering prices and ensuring the availability of goods in the domestic market.
Expressing gratitude to the President, Mr. Moula affirmed that the CREA will continue to serve the country and its citizens.
The meeting between President Tebboune and the CREA delegation underscores the government’s commitment to fostering economic development and cooperation with civic organizations to address challenges and advance national interests.
