President Tebboune Extends Condolences to King Felipe VI Following Devastating Floods in Spain

Algiers, Algeria | October 31st, 2024 — Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his deepest condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain on Thursday, following severe floods that struck several regions across Spain, leaving behind a tragic toll of lives lost and extensive property damage. The affected areas include Valence, Castilla-La Mancha, and Andalusia, where the relentless floodwaters resulted in widespread devastation.

President Tebboune conveyed his sadness and profound sympathy for Spain, emphasizing the shared sorrow felt by the Algerian people and government. “With immense sadness and deep sorrow, I learned of the horrific news of the catastrophic floods that ravaged several regions of our friend, the Kingdom of Spain, causing a tragic loss of life and severe material damage,” President Tebboune stated in his message.

The President extended heartfelt condolences to the Spanish monarch, government, and people, reaffirming Algeria’s solidarity with Spain. “In light of this tragedy, I extend to Your Majesty, your government, and the Spanish people our sincerest condolences on behalf of Algeria, both as a nation and government, and from myself personally, assuring the bereaved families of my sympathy and profound compassion,” he wrote.

Furthermore, President Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s readiness to provide any necessary assistance to help alleviate the impacts of the natural disaster. “I wish to assure Your Majesty of Algeria’s full solidarity with Spain and its willingness to offer aid and support to mitigate the effects of this catastrophe that has struck your friendly nation,” he added.

In closing, President Tebboune assured King Felipe VI of Algeria’s empathy and commitment to stand by Spain in this challenging time, expressing his highest respect and friendship.
