President Tebboune Extends Condolences to Ugandan President Following Tragic Collapse

Algiers, Algeria | August 12th, 2024 — On Monday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni following a devastating building collapse in Kampala’s suburbs. The disaster resulted in the loss of 24 lives, including several children, and left numerous others injured.

In his message, President Tebboune expressed profound sorrow and distress over the tragic incident. He stated, “Mr. President and dear brother, it is with immense sorrow and profound grief that I learned of the terrible collapse that occurred in the suburbs of Kampala, resulting in the deaths of 24 Ugandan citizens, including children, and injuring dozens more.”

President Tebboune extended his deepest sympathies to President Museveni, the Ugandan government, and the families of the victims on behalf of the Algerian people and government. He assured them of Algeria’s solidarity and support during this challenging time, expressing hope for a swift recovery of the injured. “In this painful moment, I offer my sincerest condolences to you, the Ugandan government, and, through you, to the families of the victims. We extend our solidarity and compassion, hoping for a quick recovery for the injured,” he added.

Concluding his message, President Tebboune reiterated his condolences and expressed high regard for President Museveni. “Please accept, Mr. President and dear brother, the expression of our highest consideration and deepest respect,” the Algerian leader emphasized.
