President Tebboune Hosts Mauritanian FM to Strengthen Historical Ties

ALGIERS- In a diplomatic move aimed at fortifying historical ties and fostering cooperation, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria received the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, in an audience on Tuesday, as announced by the Presidency’s statement.
The meeting, attended by Boualem Boualem, Director of the President’s Cabinet, and Lounès Magramane, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, provided an opportunity to discuss and elevate the longstanding bilateral relations between Algeria and Mauritania.
Following the audience, Minister Ould Merzoug expressed the significance of the meeting with President Tebboune, describing it as “an opportunity to valorize the ancient bilateral relations, rooted in blood and history between the two brotherly nations.”
The diplomatic encounter underscores the commitment of both Algeria and Mauritania to strengthening their ties, based on a shared history and cultural affinities. The historical connections between the peoples of the two countries serve as a foundation for the pursuit of common goals and mutual cooperation in various fields.
