President Tebboune Inaugurates Military Parade Marking 70 Years of Algeria’s Revolution Revolution

Algiers, Algeria | November 01st, 2024 — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, serving as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, launched an impressive military parade on Friday along NR 11, adjacent to Djamaâ El Djazaïr in Algiers. This event, organized by the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP), commemorated the 70th anniversary of the launch of Algeria’s historic Liberation Revolution.

Following the national anthem, President Tebboune addressed the nation, extending heartfelt congratulations to the Algerian people on this monumental occasion and welcoming dignitaries who joined Algeria in celebrating its revolutionary legacy. Seventy cannon rounds resounded, symbolizing each year of Algeria’s journey since the revolution’s inception, as the President, alongside ANP Chief of Staff General Said Chanegriha, reviewed the formations of ANP personnel representing all branches of the Algerian Armed Forces.

The parade began with striking aerial displays over Algiers Bay, showcasing the ANP’s air fleet, including tactical transport aircraft, reconnaissance planes, fighter jets, bombers, and combat helicopters engaged in a synchronized show of skill and precision. Alongside air forces, ground and naval units, the Republican Guard, and National Gendarmerie also participated, with formations from the ANP’s military academies, National Police, Civil Protection, and Algerian Customs adding further depth to the event.

This momentous occasion welcomed numerous high-profile attendees, including heads of state from allied nations, senior Algerian officials, members of the government, veterans of the revolutionary era, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria, underscoring Algeria’s enduring commitment to honor the values of November 1, 1954.
