Accompanied by Military and Government Officials, the Head of State Inaugurates Key Projects to Boost Infrastructure, Security, and Regional Growth
Algiers, Algeria | April 24th, 2025 — In a decisive demonstration of his administration’s ongoing commitment to balanced national development and territorial equity, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune embarked on a high-level working and inspection visit to the southwestern province of Béchar on Thursday, aimed at inaugurating and evaluating major development projects vital to the region’s socioeconomic transformation.
The Head of State was warmly received upon arrival by the Minister of the Interior, Local Assemblies and Territorial Planning, Brahim Merad, along with local civil and military authorities. Marking the importance of the visit, President Tebboune’s aircraft was honorably escorted through Algerian skies by a formation of fighter jets from the Algerian Air Force, a symbolic gesture underscoring the state’s full mobilization behind national development.
President Tebboune is joined on this mission by General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, as well as several members of the government. Their presence highlights the multidimensional nature of this visit, where civilian, military, and ministerial coordination plays a critical role in steering regional development efforts.
The presidential agenda in Béchar includes the inauguration of a series of strategic infrastructure and economic projects designed to stimulate local development, improve service delivery, and reinforce the region’s economic potential. Among the scheduled activities are the unveiling of new urban, health, educational, and industrial facilities tailored to meet the pressing needs of the population and support the government’s broader vision for integrated national advancement.
