President Tebboune Sends a Special Letter to His Ghanaian Counterpart

Algiers, Algeria | February 7th, 2025 — In a significant diplomatic move reflecting the deep-rooted ties between Algeria and Ghana, Algerian Minister of Communication  Mohamed Meziane personally delivered a handwritten letter from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama during an official visit to Accra. Acting as a special envoy of the Algerian Head of State, Meziane conveyed the firm commitment of President Tebboune to bolstering bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various strategic sectors.

During the high-level meeting, the Algerian minister relayed the warm fraternal greetings of President Tebboune to his Ghanaian counterpart, underscoring the historical African values that bind the two nations. He reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering dedication to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual collaboration with Ghana, reiterating President Tebboune’s vision for elevating bilateral ties to new heights.

For his part, President John Dramani Mahama welcomed the Algerian envoy and expressed deep appreciation for the visit, recognizing it as a testament to the profound and enduring relationship between the two nations. The Ghanaian leader commended Algeria’s steadfast commitment to fostering Pan-African unity and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of Algeria-Ghana relations in addressing continental challenges.

The discussions also focused on the necessity of enhancing diplomatic consultations, reinforcing strategic coordination, and unifying stances on key regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both parties acknowledged the pressing need for greater African integration and joint efforts to address geopolitical developments, economic challenges, and security threats facing the continent.
