President Tebboune Signs Presidential Decrees Granting Clemency to Over 4,000 Inmates

Algiers, Algeria | November 01st, 2024 — In a significant act of clemency commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Algerian Liberation Revolution, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has signed two presidential decrees authorizing pardons for more than 4,000 detainees. This initiative underscores a message of unity, reconciliation, and respect for the values of the Revolution.

The first decree grants clemency to individuals with final convictions in common law cases, offering them a renewed opportunity for reintegration. The second decree extends grace to those convicted in cases involving public order disturbances, aligning with Algeria’s emphasis on social stability and national harmony.
