President Tebboune Takes New Water Management Decisions for Bouira and Béchar Provinces

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday, focusing on various issues, and made new decisions regarding the water situation in the provinces of Bouira and Béchar.
For Bouira province, the President ordered “exceptional measures” regarding drinking water and wastewater. Specifically, he instructed the initiation of well drilling and groundwater exploration using the latest technologies and equipment, marking the first time such actions have been taken in the Zbarbar region since independence.
Regarding Béchar province, Tebboune directed the acceleration of exploration for new groundwater sources in the Qatrani area, with the aim of exploiting them by next summer.
President Tebboune also ordered the Minister of the Sector to closely monitor the progress of completing seawater desalination plants nationwide.
Furthermore, he commended the progress made nationally in the treatment of wastewater.
