President Tebboune, Turkish counterpart Erdogan tackle situation in Sudan

ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, on Tuesday, a phone call from his brother, President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said, this Tuesday, a press release from the presidency.

According to the press release, the two presidents discussed, during this call, bilateral cooperation relations and ways to strengthen them.

The two presidents also discussed “the dangerous and regrettable evolution of the security situation in Sudan, a sisterly country, as well as the means to find a solution to contain, politically, the situation and put an end to hostilities between the brothers in this month of Ramadan, month of piety and forgiveness.

Pt. Tebboune and his Turkish counterpart stressed “the importance of prioritizing dialogue and the supreme interest of Sudan”.

On the occasion of Laylat al-Qadr, the two presidents expressed their “best wishes to the brotherly Algerian and Turkish peoples”, and also exchanged “the wishes on the eve of the feast of Eid Al -Fitr, wishing both peoples health and prosperity,” the statement concluded.
