President Tebboune Urges Algerian Diaspora to Stay Vigilant Against Hostile Campaigns

Algeria, October 16, 2023 – On the occasion of the commemoration of the 1961 Paris Massacres, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a powerful message to Algerians, particularly those residing abroad. As the nation remembers the tragic events of October 17, 1961, President Tebboune urged the Algerian diaspora to remain vigilant against hostile campaigns and emphasized the importance of their role in preserving the nation’s dignity and progress.
In his address, President Tebboune solemnly reflected on the dark chapter of history that unfolded on that fateful day in 1961. He described the events as “odious criminal abuses committed by colonialism” and reiterated that the memories of these abuses must remain engraved in the collective memory. In a stern warning, the President cautioned the Algerian diaspora against “deceptive maneuvers and frenzied campaigns fueled by suspicious and hostile agendas against Algeria.” These campaigns come at a time when Algeria is making significant progress in building a new future, marked by institutional development and economic recovery, all while prioritizing the dignity of its citizens and the nation’s stature.
