Algiers, Algeria | January 16th, 2025 — On Thursday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria presided over a ceremony marking the formal presentation of credentials by three new resident ambassadors. This event underscores Algeria’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its diplomatic relations with key international partners.
The new ambassadors receiving their letters of credence included His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Verghis, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic (Greece), His Excellency Mr. Dong Guangli, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, and His Excellency Mr. James Robert Stephen Downer, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace, was an important occasion for reaffirming Algeria’s diplomatic bonds with these three countries, each of which plays a pivotal role in global geopolitics and regional stability.
A statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic emphasized that this diplomatic milestone is part of Algeria’s broader strategy to strengthen international partnerships, particularly in trade, technology, and regional cooperation.
