ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s recent address to the parliamentarians has generated a range of reactions in Algeria, showcasing a generally positive reception from various political actors. The introduction of the annual State of the Nation address has been well-received, with many commending the President’s vision and commitment.
The bureau of the Council of the Nation, in a meeting chaired by Salah Goudjil, expressed profound appreciation for the reference speech delivered by President Tebboune before the representatives of both parliamentary chambers. The council highlighted the importance of this tradition, which sheds light on achievements, current developments, and future prospects, contributing to the richness of Algeria’s new era.
Salah Goudjil, in a press statement, lauded the President’s speech as “important and historic.” Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), described the address as “carrying a vision, an economic strategy, and a carefully studied action plan for the benefit of competencies and youth.” Boughali emphasized Algeria’s significant economic accomplishments, including positive economic indicators, zero external debt, robust growth rates, and the preservation of the state’s social character.
Mustapha Hidaoui, President of the High Council of Youth, emphasized the historical depth of the President’s speech and underscored the President’s reliance on the youth as the driving force for change in the new Algeria.
Several political parties also voiced their approval of President Tebboune’s address. El Bina movement expressed satisfaction with the President’s determination to complete the political and socio-economic reform process and deepen national dialogue for enhanced national mobilization. The National Democratic Rally (RND) focused its response on the economic aspects, praising the President’s commitment to a strong economy through the revision of investment-related legal frameworks, the promotion of startups, and agricultural production.
El Moustakbal Front applauded President Tebboune’s dedication to the 54 commitments made during his election campaign, highlighting their continuous realization over the past four years. Education Minister Abdelhakim Belabed characterized the President’s speech as a “reassuring message” during a press statement at the Sonatrach national writing competition award ceremony in Algiers.
