President Tebboune’s Decisions: Advancements in Agriculture, Hydrocarbons, and Cinematography

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune presided over a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, where significant decisions were made addressing crucial matters in agriculture, hydrocarbons, and the revitalization of the cinematic industry in Algeria.
Agricultural Sector Reforms
In the realm of agriculture, President Tebboune issued immediate directives transferring responsibility for cereal storage silos to the governors (walis) and maintaining direct oversight of technical studies on cereal storage silos under the Ministry of Agriculture. Governors have been tasked with stringent monitoring of the agricultural sector in their respective territories, including regular inspections and assessments of cultivated areas.
Acknowledging the concerns of farmers, the President emphasized the need to address and consider their issues. He also underscored the allocation of land deeds to farmers as part of the agricultural land valorization initiative. Additionally, a definitive regularization of the agricultural land valorization dossier is set to commence from January 2024.
Hydrocarbons Sector Initiatives
In the hydrocarbons sector, President Tebboune made two crucial decisions. Firstly, he ordered the immediate revival of the Hassi Messaoud oil refining station. Secondly, he emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to diversify petroleum products earmarked for export.
Cinematography Advancements
To breathe new life into Algeria’s cinematic landscape, the President mandated the establishment of a national entity tasked with overseeing cinematographic work in the country. This organization is envisioned to support and attract the creative energies and talents of Algerian filmmakers, both domestically and abroad.
President Tebboune affirmed the state’s commitment to financing cinematographic projects, pledging financial support of up to 70% through bank loans. He also directed the facilitation of specialists in establishing studios and cinematic communities, promoting an environment conducive to the growth of the film industry.
These decisions reflect the government’s dedication to addressing key sectors of national importance, fostering economic development, and encouraging creative pursuits in Algeria. The initiatives underscore President Tebboune’s commitment to implementing practical measures for the benefit of the country and its citizens.
