ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s recent address in Algiers during a meeting with economic operators has instilled hope and reassurance among entrepreneurs, stated Abdelouahed Kerrar, Vice President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA).

Speaking on Algerian radio, Mr. Kerrar emphasized that “the President’s speech, delivered on the occasion of the closing of Global Entrepreneurship Week, is a message of hope regarding the human and natural wealth our country possesses,” ensuring that “serenity and confidence are essential for economic development.”

One of the decisions praised by Mr. Kerrar is the suspension of the commission’s work on overbilling, stating that “the decision to stop this commission was warmly applauded by all present. It’s a decision that has truly boosted confidence.” According to the Vice President of CREA, this move also sends “a very strong message from the President to the business world.”

Another presidential decision welcomed by business leaders is the promulgation of the new law on economic land belonging to the state’s private domain, he explained. He highlighted that “this law will breathe new life into many companies that were awaiting it with projects to carry out.”

Considering the country to be “on the right track” regarding economic decisions, Mr. Kerrar also commended the efforts of the government, especially in stabilizing investment-related regulations for a period of 10 years, stating that this approach met the expectations of employers’ organizations.

Regarding the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Algeria, the Vice President of CREA emphasized the capabilities of young people who presented “innovative and ambitious projects.” He mentioned that “members of the diaspora, some not born in Algeria, participated in this event to express their commitment to the country and to leverage their expertise for the benefit of students in Algeria.”

This positive response from economic operators indicates a renewed sense of confidence and optimism within the entrepreneurial community, following the President’s address and key decisions. The business environment in Algeria seems poised for positive developments, aligning with the country’s efforts to stimulate economic growth and attract investments.
