President Tebboune’s Victory Day Address: Renewed Commitment to Algerian Independence, Unity

ALGIERS- On the occasion of the 19th of March, Victory Day, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune addressed the Algerian people with a message highlighting the sacrifices made by the Algerian people, the Mujahideen, and the martyrs in their struggle for independence. He emphasized that the 62nd anniversary of March 19, 1962, marks the culmination of the Algerian people’s struggle and commitment within the national movement for independence.
“The independence of Algeria emerged from this historic event after more than 130 years of colonial dominance, shattering the myth and propaganda of ‘French Algeria,’ which was a dogma of the colonizers,” reads President Tebboune’s letter.
He renewed his commitment to realizing the objectives of the November 1st message within the framework of the New Algeria: “The New Algeria will materialize the objectives of the November 1st call by strengthening national sovereignty and independence of national decision-making, and by continuing efforts to establish a strong and competitive national economy while preserving the social character of the state and safeguarding the dignity of citizens.”
The President called for the strengthening of the internal front and unity of ranks: “The current regional and international context requires unity of ranks and strengthening the internal front, in addition to reorganizing priorities according to a nationalist and strategic vision to preserve the country’s stability,” he added.
President Tebboune took the opportunity to salute the nationalist consciousness of the Algerian people, emphasizing the efforts of associations, civil society, and elements of the People’s National Army (ANP) in preserving the security and stability of the country.
