Algiers- Algeria, May 7, 2024 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, focusing on five key issues and making several significant decisions. Among these decisions, the President announced an increase in pensions and allowances for retirees by a rate ranging from 10 to 15%.
Tebboune emphasized that this decision reflects the state’s recognition of the efforts of workers and aims to improve the quality of life for all categories of retirees and their families. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting retired citizens and ensuring their well-being.
Approval of Special Statutes for Medical and Paramedical Personnel
In addition to the pension increase, President Tebboune approved the special statutes and compensation systems for medical and paramedical staff. This move signifies the government’s dedication to enhancing the working conditions and welfare of healthcare professionals.
President Tebboune also instructed the Minister of Health to continue developing legal texts to ensure the effective support and care of medical and paramedical personnel. This highlights the government’s efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector and provide better services to citizens.
Revision of Investment Credit Interest Rates
Furthermore, President Tebboune directed the Minister of Finance to review the high bank interest rates, which are incompatible with the investment policy. This decision aims to create a more favorable environment for investment and economic growth by facilitating access to credit for businesses and entrepreneurs.
