Professor Mustapha Yahi: “President Tebboune Stands Firm in Support of Palestine Amidst Global Disillusionment”
ALGIERS- In a resolute display of unwavering support for the Palestinian people, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria has emerged as a unique and steadfast advocate in the Arab world during these tumultuous times of international disillusionment. Mustapha Yahi, the Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally party, emphasized President Tebboune’s exceptional dedication to the Palestinian cause in a solidarity seminar organized by the party, declaring that history will remember him as the only Arab leader who did not waver in his support for Palestine.
Mustapha Yahi highlighted how President Tebboune’s unyielding commitment has provided a strong foundation for the Palestinian state’s aspirations to be recognized under international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Algeria’s stance is deeply rooted in its revolutionary history, and its support for Palestine draws inspiration from the country’s own struggles for independence and sovereignty. Yahi urged the international community to work towards granting full United Nations membership to the State of Palestine, a crucial step in establishing Palestinian statehood.
The speaker also commended the recent bold statement by the United Nations Secretary-General, who courageously affirmed that the dire situation in Palestine did not happen in a vacuum. He stressed that the ongoing blockade, starvation, forced displacement, denial of humanitarian aid, and the deliberate targeting and killing of civilians, as well as attacks on schools, mosques, churches, hospitals, Red Crescent workers, and journalists, all constitute fully-fledged crimes that demand prosecution and accountability.
Furthermore, Mustapha Yahi strongly condemned the horrific massacres committed by the Zionist occupation in Gaza and called for an immediate cessation of this aggression. He advocated for the swift opening of safe humanitarian corridors to ensure urgent delivery of aid. He lauded the heroic resilience and steadfastness displayed by the Palestinian people in the face of adversity, asserting that the Palestinian cause is no longer solely an Arab or Islamic issue; it has become a central concern for all freedom-loving people around the world.
