Promotion of audiovisual sector in Algeria: Large-scale project on realization of media city presented

Algiers– A large-scale project to realize a media city “Dzair Media City” aimed at promoting the audiovisual sector in Algeria through the creation of a global and integrated infrastructure bringing together the main players in the sector, was presented, on Wednesday, during the government meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane.
The Ministers of Communication and Housing, Town Planning and the City presented a communication on the project of realization of a media city “Dzair Media City”, said a statement from the services of the Prime Minister.
According to the same source, this large-scale project aims to promote the audiovisual sector in Algeria through the creation of a global and integrated infrastructure bringing together the main media actors, namely studios of public and private TV and radio channels, the teleport ensuring broadcasting via the latest technology platforms with a large data center based on artificial intelligence.
It also provides for a free zone to house the platforms of international social network operators who will resort to this gateway to send their content to Africa, the MENA region and Europe.
The “Dzair Media City” project will thus make it possible to create a professional environment based on international norms and standards that will encourage audiovisual activity through a better quality of TV and radio services, which will contribute to promoting Algeria’s image.
