Algiers, Algeria – In a significant step toward bolstering collaborative efforts in wildlife conservation, Qatar’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, embarked on a pivotal visit to Algeria. During his visit, Sheikh Dr. Al Thani engaged in fruitful discussions with the Wali of El Bayadh province, Belaribi Noureddine. The meeting, attended by Ambassador of Qatar to Algeria, Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama, emphasized the importance of joint initiatives between the two nations in the preservation and breeding of endangered birds and animals.

The Wali of El Bayadh province commended the enduring cooperation between Qatar and Algeria, recognizing their shared commitment to safeguarding the planet’s biodiversity. The collaboration between these two brotherly nations is seen as a model for international cooperation in the field of wildlife conservation.

As part of his visit, Minister Al Thani undertook an inspection visit to the Qatari center for the breeding of Houbara in El Bayadh province. This visit aimed to provide the minister with firsthand insights into the latest advancements in the final stages of the project initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. This initiative’s overarching goal is to preserve wildlife in all its forms, particularly focusing on species threatened with extinction.

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, through its conservation centers in various countries, is dedicated to the breeding and protection of animals and birds facing the peril of extinction. These conservation centers serve as vital hubs for preserving endangered species in controlled environments, and they also play a pivotal role in internal and external production centers aimed at rehabilitating and reintroducing these species into their natural habitats.
