ALGIERS- The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments has officially announced that a rain-seeking prayer will take place next Saturday, commencing at 09:00 am, across various regions of the country.

In its statement today, the Ministry highlighted the necessity of this rain prayer due to the prolonged absence of rainfall throughout the nation. Additionally, the event aims to revive the Sunnah of the prophet Mohammed ‘PBUH’. It is well-documented that during times of drought, he would venture to the prayer grounds, face the Qiblah, turn his robe inside out, perform two rak’ahs, and fervently implore Allah Almighty, saying, “O God, grant us rain.” A supplication that is both beneficial and timely, sparing us from harm.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments cordially invites all citizens to attend the rain prayer, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Rabi’ al-Thani 27, 1444 AH, November 11, 2023, commencing at 09:00 in the morning.

Furthermore, the Ministry emphasizes the importance of observing the etiquettes associated with this prayer. These include repentance, seeking forgiveness, resolving grievances, nurturing family ties, and extending charity to the less fortunate. By adhering to these practices, we hope to beseech Allah for a downpour that is both abundant and beneficial, arriving sooner rather than later.

Let us unite in prayer, as we come together to seek divine intervention for the much-needed rain that will rejuvenate our lands and bring prosperity to our nation.
