ALGIERS- Renault Algérie has started preparing for the return to manufacturing of vehicles at its plant located in Oued Tlelat in the wilaya of Oran.

Indeed, company officials are currently working to match the production file with the new specifications, published last November. As soon as the announcement of the resumption of production at the factory, the company may also file an import file. Renault’s first Algerian car is expected to go on sale in 2024.

The CEO of the public Madar-Holding group, Charaf-Eddine Amara, told the Echourouk newspaper that the legal entity of the Renault company is now ready and has been completed in coordination between all parties concerned. According to him, preparations are underway for the resumption of the manufacture of brand vehicles according to the new specifications.

Speaking on the sidelines of the forum on “food security in durum wheat”, organized by the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), at the International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers, Amara explained, to the same source, that the completion of the procedures for filing the manufacturing file will take place soon, but the marketing of the first Algerian vehicle with the Renault brand will take place during the year 2024.

Once Renault Algeria officially announces the launch of vehicle manufacturing, it will also start importing, by filing a vehicle import file. In May 2022, Madar Holding announced that it had taken over the 34% stake held by SNVI in the company Renault Algérie Production.
