Algiers, Algeria | January 1st, 2024 — In a resounding address marking the arrival of 2025, General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), extended heartfelt greetings to all members of the military. Speaking with profound resolve and national pride, Chanegriha underscored the pivotal role of the ANP as a cornerstone of Algeria’s security and sovereignty while emphasizing the nation’s collective responsibility to overcome challenges and build a prosperous future.
In his New Year’s message, Chanegriha conveyed his best wishes to all ranks of the ANP—officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, and civilian personnel—serving across Algeria’s vast and sacred lands. “On this occasion of the New Year 2025, I extend my warmest congratulations and sincerest blessings to every member of the National People’s Army, the proud heir of the National Liberation Army. May Almighty God grant you health, strength, and success in your noble mission of serving our cherished homeland and its honorable people,” he said.
The General highlighted Algeria’s ongoing efforts to fortify its economic resilience, social cohesion, and national security, asserting that the success of these initiatives hinges on the unity and determination of its citizens. “Algeria, steadfast in its pursuit of economic strength and societal stability, counts on the unwavering dedication of its daughters and sons, who are resolute in building a victorious new Algeria,” he affirmed, adding that these aspirations are rooted in ensuring peace, prosperity, and stability for all Algerians.
Chanegriha reaffirmed the ANP’s unwavering commitment to its constitutional duties, describing the military as a vigilant and steadfast defender of Algeria’s sovereignty and strategic interests. He stated, “The People’s National Army, always prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder with the nation’s vital forces, will continue its mission to elevate our country to greater heights. With unparalleled dedication and readiness, we strive to build a robust, capable army that is ever prepared to safeguard the nation against threats to its unity and stability.”
Drawing inspiration from Algeria’s revolutionary heritage, Chanegriha urged the ANP to uphold the values and principles of the National Liberation Army, which continue to guide its mission. He lauded the unbreakable bond between the Algerian people and their army, describing it as a unique model of unity and solidarity that fortifies the nation against conspiracies and challenges.
“The conspiracies and schemes targeting our nation, regardless of their intensity and sophistication, will only strengthen our resolve and determination,” he declared. “The Algerian people, in unison with their army, remain steadfast in confronting all plots and in navigating the rapid transformations of the regional and global landscape.”
The General also outlined the strategic priorities for 2025, urging the army to maintain its vigilance and operational readiness. He emphasized the importance of combating terrorism, thwarting extremist ideologies, and dismantling organized crime networks that seek to undermine Algeria’s stability. Highlighting the dangers posed by narcotics, he stressed the ANP’s role in protecting Algeria’s youth from such threats, which he described as attempts to weaken the nation’s future.
Chanegriha concluded with a call to action for all members of the ANP. “I urge you, the guardians of our homeland, to remain true to the values of our forebears and to embody a spirit of responsibility and preparedness. Together, let us confront the challenges of this new year with unwavering dedication, ensuring Algeria’s security, unity, and progress,” he stated.
