ALGIERS- Algeria’s foreign policy is based on the principles of non-interference, respect for sovereignty, and the pursuit of peaceful resolutions to conflicts. The Makhzen regime’s attempts to portray Algeria as aligning with Russia or any other power are baseless and misleading. Algeria maintains open and constructive relations with a wide range of countries, including Western nations, without compromising its sovereignty or independent decision-making.

Furthermore, Algeria’s commitment to peace and stability in the region is well-documented. The country has played a pivotal role in mediating conflicts and promoting dialogue among nations. Algeria has been a key actor in facilitating peace agreements, such as the Algiers Agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea in 2000. Its diplomatic efforts have been recognized globally, and its contributions to regional security have been highly valued.

The Makhzen regime’s attempts to sow discord and misrepresent Algeria’s foreign relations are driven by their own political agenda. By attempting to exploit regional tensions and portray Algeria as a threat, they seek to divert attention from their own domestic challenges and maintain their grip on power. However, the international community is not easily swayed by such manipulative tactics. Algeria’s commitment to neutrality and its longstanding record of promoting peace and stability stand firm, defying the false narratives perpetuated by the Makhzen regime.

Besides, the Makhzen regime’s failure to comprehend Algeria’s position becomes evident when President Tebboune visited Russia and secured President Putin’s agreement for Algeria to act as a mediator between Russia and the West. This act not only showcases Algeria’s diplomatic prowess but also underscores its commitment to neutrality in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. As a mediator, Algeria understands the importance of maintaining impartiality, which further highlights its mature approach to global affairs. By successfully securing this role, Algeria has demonstrated its ability to play a significant and constructive role in resolving international conflicts, while recognizing the value of diverse perspectives in achieving sustainable solutions.

During his visit to Moscow, President Tebboune was keen on assuring Western countries of Algeria’s commitment to international diplomacy. He made a point to highlight Algeria’s positive relations with nations worldwide, including the United States and China. As a nation that consistently advocates for peace and stability, Algeria aims to play a constructive role on the global stage. President Tebboune’s affirmations underscored Algeria’s genuine intentions to actively contribute to resolving conflicts such as the ongoing war in Ukraine.

It is essential to note that Algeria maintains cordial and friendly relations with Ukraine and the West in general. In the past, Algeria has provided an alternative to Russian gas for several European countries. Algerian diplomacy, led by President Tebboune, strives to maintain a delicate balance between different blocs and alliances. Algeria remains mindful of its strained relationship with Morocco, especially after the latter’s recent normalization of relations with the Zionist entity. Algeria will not allow any diplomatic void between itself and the West to be exploited by Morocco for its own machinations and ambitions.

Since President Tebboune assumed office in Algeria, there has been a noticeable shift in the dynamics of power within the country. This shift has resulted in Algeria actively diversifying its relationships in order to safeguard its national interests and uphold its core principles. Under President Tebboune’s leadership, Algeria has adopted an inclusive approach, welcoming friendships and partnerships with nations around the world. However, this approach does not extend to those who have chosen to be adversaries or have crossed boundaries that are deemed unacceptable in terms of forming friendly alliances. Specifically, Algeria has taken a firm stance against the Makhzen regime and the Zionist entity.  In summary, Algeria, under President Tebboune, is committed to nurturing friendships and alliances that align with its interests and principles, while also firmly standing against the parties it perceives as adversaries or crossing boundaries deserving of friendship.

In recent times, Algeria has emerged as a prominent figure in the international arena, positioning itself as a key player in global peacemaking efforts. The European tour embarked upon by Algeria’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf serves as a clear indication of the country’s growing influence and recognition. By visiting Italy, Serbia, and Germany, Algeria aims to forge alliances and strengthen diplomatic ties, ultimately fostering peace and stability on a global scale.

The significance of Algeria’s role in today’s world lies in its unparalleled wisdom and expertise in conflict resolution. Nations from every corner of the globe now seek Algeria’s counsel, turning to the country with the hope of finding solutions to their own challenges and disputes with neighboring states. Algeria’s reputation as a trusted mediator and its ability to facilitate dialogue make it an invaluable asset in the pursuit of global security and peace.

Algeria’s historical legacy as a beacon of hope for liberation movements in Africa, Asia, and Latin America further enhances its current position in global affairs. Just as it once inspired and supported nations in their struggles for independence, Algeria now offers its insights and guidance to address contemporary issues and crises faced by countries worldwide. Its experience in navigating complex political landscapes and its commitment to promoting harmony make Algeria an indispensable player on the world stage.

The world’s reliance on Algeria’s unique role as a peacemaker is a testament to its enduring relevance and unwavering dedication to peace and stability. As the international community grapples with an array of complex challenges, Algeria’s contributions serve as a beacon of hope. With each diplomatic mission and international engagement, Algeria solidifies its position as a trusted ally in the pursuit of a more peaceful and prosperous world.

In conclusion, the deceptive narrative propagated by the Makhzen regime misrepresents Algeria’s foreign policy and its relationship with the West. Algeria remains committed to maintaining its independent stance, free from entanglements with any specific alliance or camp. Its pursuit of neutrality, peace, and stability is rooted in a deep-seated belief in the importance of sovereignty, non-interference, and respect for international law.
