ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, demonstrated that the oath taken after his election to the supreme office and reiterated during his investiture speech, to restore and preserve the dignity of the citizen, is an open war and a tireless struggle.

Indeed, the decision taken by President Tebboune during the Council of Ministers, on Sunday April 16, 2023, relating to the increase of the solidarity allowances to 12,000 DA for those who receive 10,000 DA and to 7,000 DA for those who receive currently 3,000 DA, affecting nearly one million beneficiaries, is another manifestation of the President’s determination to concretize the commitments made before the Algerian people in preservation of the message of the brave Chouhada.

The President of the Republic stresses, in all his speeches, that the war for the restoration of the dignity of the citizen will not cease before the eradication, with firmness and determination, of all forms of misery in the country.

The preservation of the dignity and purchasing power of citizens, all categories combined, is placed by the President of the Republic above any other consideration, as underlined in his message on the occasion of World Labor Day of 2022.

The creation of jobs and social protection are also at the heart of his program… aspects for which the necessary financial resources are mobilized, in particular for the benefit of the middle class, people with limited incomes, and disadvantaged categories.

A measure that has benefited nearly 2 million workers

The war od dignity will continue with the increase in the guaranteed minimum wage, brought to 20,000 Da, and the institution of an unemployment allowance whose amount has increased from 13,000 to 15,000 Da.

The war for the preservation of the dignity of the citizen continued through the modifications decided by the President of the Republic in the salary scale of civil servants, which came into force as of March 2022.

This salary increase will take place over two years (2023-2024) to annually reach a threshold oscillating between 4500 DA and 8500 DA depending on the grades. The salary increase in three years (2022, 2023, and 2024) will thus be 47%.

Decisions in the same direction have followed one another, including the historic and unprecedented measure, namely the integration of 600,000 workers in the public sector. Pensioners have also benefited from these measures. President Tebboune decided to increase the minimum threshold of the retirement pension to 15,000 DA for those who received a pension of less than 10,000 DA and to 20,000 DA for those who received a pension of 15,000 DA in order to harmonize it with the minimum salary threshold which has also increased from 18,000 DA to 20,000 DA since 2021.

The Council of Ministers of April 16, 2023 approved the modification of the law relating to retirement to adapt it to the exceptional increases in allowances and pensions, thus honoring the commitment of the President of the Republic to improve the standard of living of this category which has given a lot to Algeria during the years of service.
