Retirement pension, solidarity allowances, Hadj, recruitment of teachers, desalination of water: Instructions of President Tebboune

ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, this Sunday, a meeting of the Council of Ministers devoted to the revision of retirement pensions, joint presentations on the police of town planning, the desalination of sea water and the realization of the media city, as well as two presentations relating to sport in primary schools and preparations for Hajj 2023.
Concerning the revision of retirement pensions and the solidarity allowances, the Council of Ministers approved the modification of the law relating to retirement to adapt it to the exceptional increases in allowances and pensions, decided by the President of the Republic in January 2023.
President Tebboune reiterated his commitment to pursue the strategy of improving the standard of living of citizens, including retirees, a category that has given a lot to Algeria during the years of service and which deserves gratitude and appreciation, indicated the presidency in a press release.
According to the same source, the President of the Republic also decided, initially, to increase the solidarity allowance to 12,000 DA for those who receive 10,000 DA and to 7,000 DA for those who currently receive 3,000 DA. This upgrading will affect nearly one million beneficiaries.
Regarding the preparations for Hajj 2023, the Council of Ministers approved the reduction of the cost of Hajj to 770,000 DA instead of the 850,000 DA representing the initial cost of last year.
Recruitment of 12,000 sports teachers
With regard to school sport, according to the same press release, “the President welcomed the development of a real plan for school sport, as a receptacle dedicated to the sporting elite, to open up new horizons youth. »
President Tebboune ordered the launch of the operation to recruit 12,000 specialized qualified teachers to supervise school sport.
He also instructed the “creation of a General Directorate of School Sports in the National Education sector. »
The President of the Republic ordered the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research “to restore the image of university sports, by launching inter-university team sports championships and between university residences. »
Seawater desalination
Regarding a presentation on seawater desalination projects, the President of the Republic highlighted “the need to generalize seawater desalination stations all along the Algerian coast as a strategic plan, as much as the technology of controlling desalination stations has become purely Algerian. »
He instructed to “ensure the continuous and rational distribution of water in the face of fluctuating rainfall at the national and international levels. »
He ordered “to review the water distribution management plans so as to ensure equitable distribution of drinking water between neighborhoods and according to a reasonable schedule. »
President Tebboune urged “to use the latest technologies to regulate water consumption in order to preserve this vital resource. »
At the end of the presentation, the President of the Republic thanked the Ministers of Higher Education and Vocational Training for the training of engineers and technicians in the field of water desalination in order to strengthen the human capacities of control in our stations.
Creation of the media city
As for the realization of the media city, President Tebboune affirmed that “the creation of the media city must be in line with the development that has occurred in the audiovisual field on a global scale. »
He instructed to “give, within the framework of this great media project, priority to the development of national television and radio in order to establish them as the locomotive of the renewal of the audiovisual landscape in Algeria. »
And to “catch up on the delay in the communication sector at all levels, given the positive dynamics experienced by several government sectors. »
