ALGIERS- In a significant breakthrough for higher education in our country, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, announced a transformative policy shift during his opening speech at a meeting focused on evaluating the educational program for the year 2023. Under this new initiative, students will now receive their grants every month, a marked departure from the previous practice of disbursing funds once a quarter. Minister Baddari emphasized that this change will come into effect, with grant payments scheduled for the 18th of each month.
This groundbreaking reform is set to alleviate financial hardships faced by students pursuing higher education. For years, students had to grapple with the daunting challenge of managing their expenses over long intervals between grant disbursements. The quarterly schedule often left students struggling to cover their educational and personal expenses effectively.
By transitioning to a monthly grant disbursement system, Minister Baddari and his ministry aim to provide more consistent and reliable financial support for students, ensuring that their academic pursuits remain undisturbed. This change is poised to foster a more conducive learning environment, where students can focus on their studies without the constant financial strain of waiting for funds.
