Algiers, Algeria | July 2nd 2024 — In a press conference convened today at the RND headquarters in Ben Aknoun, Mustapha Yahi, Secretary General of the National Democratic Rally (RND), reiterated his plea for Abdelkader Bengrina, President of the El Bina Movement, to reconsider his departure from the “Coalition for the Majority for Algeria.”

Yahi underscored his party’s commitment to operating within the framework of the republic’s laws and acknowledged Bengrina’s pivotal role within the presidential majority. “Political alliances do not absolve parties of their responsibilities, and we recognize Bengrina’s membership in the presidential majority,” Yahi affirmed.

Maintaining Open Dialogue and Mutual Respect

Yahi disclosed ongoing communication with Bengrina, highlighting his esteem for him. He extended an open invitation for Bengrina to return to the coalition, respecting the decision Bengrina previously made to withdraw. “I maintain regular contact with Bengrina, whom I hold in high regard. If he chooses to return to the coalition, he will be welcomed. He has made his decision, and I respect that,” Yahi stated.

Direct Appeal to Bengrina

Addressing Bengrina directly, Yahi reiterated the invitation, emphasizing that the decision to rejoin the coalition rests entirely with Bengrina. “I extend my invitation to you once more. The choice to return to the coalition is yours to make,” Yahi concluded.
