ALGIERS- The national political arena has warmly received President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s decision to call for early presidential elections, scheduled for September 7, 2024. Mustapha Yahi, the Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND) party, praised President Tebboune’s decision to convene early presidential elections.
In a statement released by the RND, Yahi described the president’s decision as a decisive response to skeptics and naysayers spreading doubt. He emphasized that Algeria is a state of institutions and a constitutional state, and the decision to hold early presidential elections reflects a commitment to reform and institutional stability.
Meanwhile, Abdelali Hassani, the President of the Movement for the Society of Peace (MSP), highlighted that the presidential elections announced by the Head of State will mark a new democratic transformation, paving the way for a prosperous and developed Algeria. Hassani underscored the importance of treating the decision to hold presidential elections in accordance with organizational mechanisms within political parties.
