ALGIERS- In a public address from Tamanrasset, Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND) party, Mustapha Yahi, emphasized the tangible realization of state economic commitments on the ground, particularly in the southern provinces. Addressing a popular gathering at the cultural center, Yahi underscored the strategic dimensions of state commitments that are actively unfolding in the southern regions.
One of the prominent projects highlighted by Yahi is the initiation of the Tindouf-Béchar-Oran railway project, spanning 950 km, which is expected to generate approximately 30,000 permanent jobs. He further stated that the long-awaited railway project in Tamanrasset is set to commence construction. Tamanrasset’s strategic location positions it to enhance commercial exchanges and evolve into an economic region with African depth, Yahi continued.
Emphasizing the importance of establishing Tamanrasset Airport as an African hub connecting the North to the South, Yahi called for its expansion to promote it as a commercial freight airport. In this context, he stressed the significance of strengthening the role of Tamanrasset University to accommodate African students, fostering communication, tolerance, and fraternity values among the peoples of the region to achieve security and prosperity in neighboring countries.
Yahi urged citizens to remain vigilant and unite around state institutions, particularly the People’s National Army (ANP), which ensures the security of the borders. The RND Secretary-General’s address aimed to shed light on the government’s ongoing efforts to fulfill economic commitments and strategic initiatives, with a focus on fostering development and prosperity in the southern provinces.
